Our yard has never looked better! The great thing about living in a neighborhood with so many families is hand me down toys! Gabriel "acquired" this from a neighbor last week. When it was new it blew bubbles as it was pushed. I am actually glad that it doesn't work because as it is he throws a fit when it is time to go inside and stop cutting the grass. I can't imagine if bubbles were involved!
Making a turn. So serious!
Time for a tune up.
Must have been too hard to fix because he decided to play with Rahja instead.
Uh oh, he just spotted the bubble container!
We finished the afternoon with a drum solo on some rocks.
This past Sunday we headed to the Wojo's for Aia's birthday party. Gabriel was very excited to be wearing his hat that matched Daddy's. As soon as his chariot/wagon pulled up to the door he walked in like he owned the place. Once he felt he had gotten all of the "awww's" and "he's so cute" that he needed he headed out to play with the big boys (Zane, Braeden and Talan). They are always so good with him and didn't mind him trying to tickle them. I think he was trying to distract them so he could steal a toy.
Deciding what to do next while having a thumb break. His thumb sucking has really slowed down quite bit. Hard to take his thumb away from him.
Then his big sister stopped by!
"Hey dad, come take my picture! Cheeeessse!"
Ham goes with cheese right? I think we created one.
Saturday, March 10th at 10:45 AM Gabriel turned 2! He woke up early and was singing to Pooh, almost as if he knew it was a special day. He was in a great mood and ready to play! His first surprise was a 52" gliding Mickey Mouse ballon. He squealed as loud as he could and has walked it around every inch of the house like it is his bestfriend. Needless to say he likes it. At 10AM Gabriel and 18 of his closest friends had a part at Toy Town, which is basically a child sized city where they are free to run wild. Run wild they did, and I had no clean up to do! It was fun just to watch Gabriel and the kids play and let someone else take care of the party agenda.
These were the favors that each kid got. A mickey mouse cookie, made by Keven's dad, a Mickey cup, Mickey Mouse pez and a bouncy ball.
Some of the playhouses before the party started.
Gabriel and Daddy checking out the train table while we wait for guests to arrive. I think a train table is at the top of our list for Gabriel's playroom makeover.
Based on how comfortable Gabriel is in the kitchen I'd say he spends quite a bit of time watching me ;-)
Playing with Jack at the train table again.
Traffic jam in front of the jail.
Cutting the grass.
Safety first! Working hard in the shop.
Time for a pizza break. Gabriel had polished off his first piece before all of the other kids were even served. Amazing what a good eater he is when he is surrounded by other kids eating.
Aia was tickling Gabriel. Gabriel is usually the one doing the tickling so I think she was returning the favor. Aia and Gabriel share a birthday, only Aia turned 4. They are big buddies!
One of Gabriel's new habits. While in line for the bathroom he decided to see what he could find up there. Unfortunately he found something!
I am not sure what to say about this one...he does like to wear my shoes.
After a little more play it was time to sing "Happy Birthday" and have some cake, also made by Keven's dad. Keven brought it all the way from San Pedro, CA.
Gabriel swipped some icing before they took the cake to serve it.
Doing great with a fork!
Going in with his hands for the final piece.
And back to dress up. These boots were several sizes too big. He was walking like he just got off a horse.
Not long after we left the party place.
Gabriel was very happy to see that we brought home his balloons. He took them on a tour of the house...playroom first.
Headed into the bathroom with the balloons.
After a much needed nap Gabriel was playing in his playroom...looking out the window waiting to see if anyone else was coming over.
Gabriel learned to say "cheese" yesterday and smile at the camera. It is the cutest thing ever. He smiles as big as he can.
Playing with his favorite gift...a drum, which was filled with musical instruments, from Grandma.
