Where is the camera when you need it?

It seems that the older Gabriel gets the more he is on the go and most of the time when I am "chasing" after him I don't have my camera. He does the cutest things on his adventures. I would love to share pictures but it kind of nice just to watch him and be a part of it.

He and I have both been battling a cold this weekend. It is of course impossible to get Gabriel to blow his nose and he has decided the aspirator is his enemy so I just keep vaseline under his nose so it doesn't get too chapped.

Despite a cold he had enough energy to kick Mickey Mouse out of his crib...Pooh got to stay.


Snacks seem to make everything better.


Gabriel makes some funny noises with his tongue. I was trying to catch it but of course he has to remind me that he doesn't perform on demand!

Good habits start early

Gabriel loves his nightly bath, especially now that he has sea creatures to play with and a toothbrush to chew on!

Here it comes...

Standing! Gabriel has transitioned his crawl into this kind of caveman type thing where he straightens his legs rather than have his knees on the ground. He also has started squatting. A few times he has gone from "the squat" to a brief stand. Once he realizes he isn't holding onto anything he either quickly grabs something or squats back down.





Gabriel was in a great mood today! I am so thankful for my "work from home" days. I feel I have the best of both worlds. He was chatting away in his room this afternoon...and strecthing!



He LOVES his Georgia football...the fight song it plays anyway.


"It is bathtime?! Good because I have sweet potato on my leg!"

I am happy to report that Gabriel has forgiven me for changing his world. We finally found the right formula (premixed Similac...of course he likes the pricey stuff) and the right breast milk to formula ratio. He loves his mommy once again...and is once again a great eater! Here he was enjoying, er wearing, spaghetti and meatballs.

It finally happened...

Gabriel and I had our first bad day together. I just could not make him happy yesterday. This past weekend I began supplementing his bottles with formula(3oz breast milk and 2oz formula) and he just wasn't having it. Saturday afternoon he began a silent protest which by Sunday afternoon had turned into a loud, grouchy, and starving protest. Poor little guy :( I had a hard time getting him to eat anything other than avocado, black beans and sweet potatoes...oh and fruit. Sunday night I switched to a liquid formula versus powder. Hopefully that will do the trick. It smells much better so I can only imagine it tastes better.

It breaks my heart how mad he is at me.


On the upside he loves drinking water now that he has mastered a straw!

Lessons from Grandma

My mom came to visit this past weekend. Boy how times have changed, she used to hug me at the airport. This time she hopped straight in the back seat and loved on Gabriel! I can't say that I blame her, he is pretty cute ;-) Gabriel was more than happy to "perform" for her all weekend. They had several lengthy conversations, went on a walk, learned to stretch. Last time she visited he wasn't crawling yet so he was a whole new man this visit. What will he be doing next time?!

There he is! Yep, you guessed it..Peek-a-boo is on of Gabriel's favorites these days.

9 month photo shoot

Back in December, the 10th to be exact, Gabriel had a 9 month photo shoot. I waited to post the pictures until my mom visited since I wanted to surprise her with a few framed pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

10 months old!

Gabriel hit double digits (1/10/11)...such mixed emotions. He is so much fun to be with and everyday he learns more and more and gets bigger bigger, which is the problem! As my mom still tells me though, he will always be MY baby.

Let's see what is Gabriel up to? He chatters away and cracks himself up on a regular basis, which is great entertainment for me too! He is speedy Gonzales now when it comes to crawling. He has become quite an eater and so far loves most everything except peas and green beans. He is starting to wave and shake his head no. He understands "no" but rarely follows it. Not that he is in trouble, we are just learning boundaries....from now until he is 18 right?! He is always on the move, touching, tasting, shaking. I can't even imagine how busy his little mind is everyday.

Here are a few pictures from this afternoon. He was all over the place, I call him my little destructo! What a boy! As I was putting the camera away he came over next to me and STOOD UP on his own! Of course I didn't get a picture but it is only the beginning!



I did mention he tastes everything right?

I know you are thinking, "why didn't she take the cap off?" He was done with his bottle, just wanted to shake and spill the milk so I put the cap on to save the carpet!

Gabriel seems to find himself in this situation once a day. Some lessons just take longer to learn I suppose.
