This afternoon G, Keven and I watched the Diamondbacks beat the Giants 5-2. I think it was the best "behaved" that Gabriel has been since he went as an infant and had no choice. The seats next to us were empty so we could spread out a little, which really helped. I think our games next year we definitely need 3 seats if we are all going. It was also Star Wars day at the ballpark so plenty of fans were dressed in costume and some even brought their robots. Gabriel wasn't quite sure what to think of R2D2. He sat with both of us, danced, clapped and ate plenty of snacks. We had a great day!
Stole mommy's sunglasses.
And then daddy's hat. Cutest thief ever!
Watching the crowd during the 7th inning stretch.
The audience was clapping to the muisc in the stadium, which unfortunately you can't really hear but you can see Gabriel's little wiggle.
...where will Gabriel end up? Don't call the scout just yet, we have a bit more practice to do. We have been helping him swing and hit the ball. He gets a HUGE grin on his face. Today he picked up the bat and was "swinging" by himself. Although one of these attempts looks like a bunt.
He did hit the ball here, I was just a few seconds too late with the camera.
Here is the bunt ;-)
After baseball block break...I put them away, he dumps them out.
Gabriel had been singing into the microphone so I was hoping to capture a performance. Apparently he couldn't get started until he adjusted the shutters. I guess the sun was in his eyes.
PS - I was attempting to change his diaper, that is why his shirt is unsnapped. He wanted no part of it so he walked around with "tails" for a few minutes.
Here he was dancing with the bear, then trying to take the bear off of the toy and then finally hugging the bear. He loves to hug!
And finally more time with the GA fight song...and the octopuss music at the same time.
Tonight we went to dinner with the Wojo's for Keven's Birthday eve dinner. Luckily they picked a kid friendly restaurant because our kids were putting on a show. Considering Gabriel's dinner was made up of all new foods and it lasted past his bedtime he did great. He is rapidly becoming very stubborn when it comes to doing things for himself. Tonight he wanted to grab the food off the table like everyone else, not have it handed to him. This is frustrating and entertaining at the same time. He will sit in the high chair, as long as he isn't "forced" to. Quite a mind of his own already. He was a great sport with the food and tonight's dinner consisted of edamame, tofu, tempura green beans, beef teriyaki and LOTS of teriyaki sauce. He sat and dipped his finger in the sauce until he grew tired of that and then decided to dip a chopstick....Monkey see, monkey so...kind of.
He was mad because we wouldn't let him grab sushi from the boat...boy would he have been in for a surprise.
Aia was supervising his dipping. Of course after I put the camera down they had a 2 minute hugging session.
Thinking about trying some of the radishes...he did, not a hit.
...and for climbing in boxes, stealing water, playing with blocks and dancing to music!
We started the morning off with some playtime in a diaper box. I am pretty sure Gabriel was pretending it was a car of some sort. He was fine until it came time to get out. That required a little help.
Next it was time for football with Dad! He can't say it, or catch one yet but he knows he is supposed to watch it on Sunday.
Quick sip of water.
Serious game watching!
Game face!
Touchdown!
And now for halftime entertainment!
Gabriel decided instead of watching the rest of the game he would just play with his toys...and smile at his mommy ♥
You know how funny it is to give a dog peanut butter and watch them try to get it off the roof of their mouth? Toddler's are just as fun! Gabriel had it stuck all over his fingers and couldn't shake it off. He finally realized he just needed to lick them.
he was getting tired here and resting on his arm. So cute!
Yesterday Gabriel and I were playing in his playroom. I was trying to snap a few pictures since we were both in a good mood after a great 18 month Dr. appt. (22 pounds and 32 inches by the way). As usual he was way more interested in holding, touching and throwing the camera than posing for it. Still funny though.
"Mom, let me have it!"
I call this one "Keeping it Real." Neither one of us got what we wanted.
Eye on the prize!
"Oh forget it, I will play with the back scratcher!"
Here are a couple videos just for fun...and so distant relatives can watch him in action ;-)
And the toy of the week is...yep, you guessed it, the llight switch! Gabriel likes to click it and then turn to look at the light while we chant..On...Off...On. Entertainment for hours!
This is look I got when I said it was time to get down. Pretty sure he is saying "yeah right."
He also enjoyed some quality time with Scout on his Cars loveseat.
On to the blocks...
And finally riding the blue dog and showing me his tongue. Full afternoon in the playroom!
Tomorrow, September 10th, is Gabriel's half-birthday! He will be 1 1/2!! Wow how time flies. He is learning so much these days. He makes me smile everyday. He loves to run...from us and laugh. He loves to play peek-a-boo, around corners, behind the couch, in the curtains, where ever he can find. He loves to climb the stairs...which is a half crawl. He can open doors, and also loves to close them. He likes to throw things in the trash although doesn't seem too interested in cleaning his room. He still thinks every call is for him, which is becoming a bit of a problem. He is still Mr. Saturday Night Fever and will dance to anything! He loves Rahja and her name is one of his favorite words to say. She sure is a good sport. He goes from hugging her to hitting her and back again. All in love of course. I feel like we are only days away from a verbal explosion of words. I have a feeling once he starts he isn't going to stop!
Here he is playing with a ballon that I bought for his 1st birthday party. It lasted 6 months!
Gabriel has branched out beyond copying us while talking on the phone. He is now into baking and wearing Keven's shoes. Don't worry, the oven door is locked. He can't get into, although that doesn't stop him from trying!
He knows where I keep the oven mits. He went and grabbed it, put it on and headed to the oven.
...the Get em' game! Gabriel loves being chased around the house. If you bend down a little and smile at him and slowly say "I'm gonna get you!" He squeals and runs off, only to look back a few steps down the hall to make sure you are coming. He likes to hide and have you find him or for you to hide as well. he could play it for hours.
